Mr. Jacob Airigh Asoose

Mr. Jacob Airigh Asoose was born on 28th August 1975 in Adikpo in Kwande Local Government Areaof Benue state. He is a dedicated and highly experienced finance and accounts professional with a robust background in public sector financial management, accounting, and internal control. Currently serving as the Acting Director of Finance and Accounts at Ministry of information and Orientation, with a proven track record of safeguarding public funds, ensuring strict compliance with financial regulations, and optimizing budget systems. A member of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), possessing strong leadership skills and a commitment to transparency and accountability in public service.

Responsibilities

. The Director of Finance and Accounts is responsible for safeguarding of public funds and the regularity and propriety of expenditure under his control.

. To observe and comply fully with the checks and balance spelt out in existing financial regulations which govern receipt and disbursement of public funds and other assets entrusted to his care and shall be liable for any breach thereof.

. Ensuring that proper budgeting and accounting system are established and maintained to enhance internal control, accountability and transparency.

. Rendering monthly and other financial accounting returns and transcripts to the Accountant General of the State.

. Ensuring accurate collection and accounting for all public moneys received and expended. . Ensuring prudence in the expenditure of public funds.

. Ensuring internal guides, rules, regulations, procedures are adequately provided for the security and effective check on the assessment, collection and accounting for revenue.
